The Nerve of ... Life!

Over the summer, my parents and I had looked for a suitable first car for the occasion of my 16th birthday. On September 9th, my high school football team lost to our long time rival ... after the loss, my dad picked me up in a brand new (to me) Honda Civic '99. I was ofcourse shocked and very excited; imagining all the new freedoms this car would bring to my life ... little did I know then how that car would really affect my life. My dad and I were still in Bakersfield and we decided why not go see a movie. We bought tickets for a
10 o'clock showing of The Help around 9-ish, then we bought our pop-corn and Coke ...when we turned in our ticket stubs the lady said that she couldnt let us in yet, so being right by the mall my father took me to Forever 21. On the way over, in the car, I spilt Coke all over my white cheer uniform. Being washable, I just changed into my cheer sweats and compleatly forgot about the stain. In Forever 21, my dad and I had selected a few shirts and at the check out we made small talk with the cashier. We talked about how rediculose it is that some people just steal things and have no guilt.
We left for the theater and as we were leaving the car I asked "Did you lock the car ?" "Yep."dad said.
I laughed "Who would want this hunk of junk anyways?", then for the oddest reason I was compelled to say " But if someone does steal it, Pay It Forward."
We made it to the movie on time and enjoyed it, even though we were both very tired. When we came out to where we had parked our car my dad and I both stoped and looked at each other , " We did park the car here ... right ?" dad asked, I asured him that we did. As reality sunk in I felt a sudden mixture of feelings.
I felt panic and stress; anxiety and wonder of how some one could do something like this. Then I had the most overwhelming realization at that moment: all of my cheer things were inside of the car, as well as the new clothes. As my dad was talking to the mall cop I was in complete shock; out of every car in that parking lot, why mine ? Out of every car in that parking lot, why not mine ?  We filed a report with the police, who we were on hold with for a very long time. We called my uncle around 1am and asked him if he could pick us up. As my dad and I waited outside of a Target (as it was the most lit up parking lot), I noticed a single cockroach scampering across the entire Target parking lot. I mean this thing would not give up; it went back and forth, all the way from the dimlit area of the parking lot back over to the bench my dad and I were laying on. Given that cockroaches are said to be able to run 12 feet in 1 second, how coul this not be entertaining to me? Anyways, alongwith my creepy-comic-relief of the night, my dad and I watched heat lightening in the distance light up the sky compleatly with each strike.
At 3:30am my uncle arrived and we finally were on our way home. The next morning my dad woke me up and said that there was good, bad, and worse news; the bad news was our car had been stolen(haha), the good news was my mom had talked to my coaches and they worked something out for my extreamly expensive uniform. Then came the worse news; "All of that lightening last night caused fires all around us, we will problly need to evacuate."
The evacuation is a whole other story in itself which I honestly do not feel like getting into; but I will say what I learned from that weeked of Great Disappointment.
From those two days I had a glimpse of how some peoples lifes are.
I was finally someone who had crap happen to them (not that I really crave that, but...). I now have a little bit more insight of life and the reason why I truly can not surrvive without God in my life.
Now as far as possessions go, I realized that I put wayyyyyyy to much worth in my house and simple meaningless trinkets that I held some meaning too.
In that action-packed period of Disappointment, I was put to the test of trusting the Lord my God with EVERYTHING I have and EVERYTHING I am. I definatly can not say that I got a 100%, but I can say that what I learned I will never take for granted.

A really bad picture of Trent

The Small Things

So this morning i woke up and got ready for my trip to Palm Springs and  before we left i remembered to switch out some of the things from my old wallet to my new one. In my wallet i came across this note that i had written earlier on during the school year.
~ ( Math Class ) So today i woke up, got ready and realized that my packet was due today ... so i stressed out and told my mom and dad, they let me stay home so i could finish it which took from 6:30-9:40,  man that was alot of work. at one point i lost a paper that i did , looked evvveerrywhere for it , re-did it, then found it right in front of where i looked the first time lol it was extremely frustrating at the time. then i found out that Robin ( the head cheer coach) was going to be at the game today instead of my mom ( the freshman coach) ... so that was stressful because Carson has my pompoms . then on my way to school Muv&Papa were talking , which was bugging me, and my wrist was killing me... so i blocked out all the noise and tryed to talk to Him and ask Him to give me Patience, faith, and initiative. After that Muv was talking about how when my Aunt Peggy had cancer, money was tight and she didn't want to pay for these pictures... but the photographer told her that she knew that she was going through a rough time but in the future she would be more happy if she took the pictures because she could have those memories; so she took the pictures, even though at the time she didn't understand, then later she understood and now she is soooo happy she did. This made me think of how yesterday i was saying that i wanted to be home schooled really badly...but i didn't know if i was just sad and afraid or ... What ??? so i got out of the car and said something i guess kinda mean and before i said I'm sorry my mom freaked out and said that i needed to straighten out. so i told her that i had realized  that and that i was realllly was trying not to be so B****y and she said it was okay, so then we waited outside of the office waiting for my tears to go away, and then Austin Miller and his dad (who was wearing a donkey costume) came out of the door ... there was a very awkward silence (probably cuz they cud see my tears)... then Mr.Miller laughed and said  "I bet your wondering why I'm dressed up like an ass." haha it was so funny... then, still with tears in my eyes, we walked in ... my mom told the attendance lady that i was sick and then the lady saw my tears and asked if i had had any medicine and i said yes i took a migraine relief earlier (which was for my wrist pain) and i felt kinda bad cuz i kinda lied but my mom went along with it. so then i was on my way to my 4th period(P.E.) when i got there we were playing volleyball, which was very fun...lol...(*now at home - end of day *) So then my momma came into the class because she remembered that she had to sign one of my papers  that i wasn't even going to turn in (since the class the packet was due in was 3rd period ) and everyone was like was that ur mom? haha then i had math, which was good, i had a long lunch most of it spent with Mrs.t and 10mins with friends , then i had art , then cheer. I ended up getting my poms back, Julia ( my BFF) had to wear 2 sizes to small of shoes for the game... now I'm home and the theme of the day is what my dad said to me randomly this morning...
"There are 2 rules in life...
#1 Don't sweat the small stuff.
                                                                          and
                                                                  #2 Everything is a small thing ~

So i thought this was a pretty funny note, especially since i didn't remember half of the stuff that happened . so i guess the thing my dad said , the 2 rules , really was true .... because if they were BIG things then i probably would've remembered them haha ... u gotta love it :)

11 hours ...and Counting ;)

Tess,
i love u very much and im thinking u love me too considering we have been on skype with eachother for 11 hours now ... man that is a really long time haha lets break it down: for at least 4 hrs i was cleaning (which included me ripping my shorts) then we called our cousin on skype and he was "bored" half the time ... and he helped us set up the blog :) ... then u almost were eaten alive by an evil fly thing and you were screaming like a crazy person ... then matt fell asleep on us ... i got very frusterated with skype's extras .... then i was supossed to go to sleep ... then i attempted to post a comment atleast 20 times  and i got realllllly frustrated with that as well ... so now we have established that my dang eeePC hates me (*eeepc.g.d.i.a.h.) ;)  now we r still talking and i feel like we should hang up because i am tired but i really dont want to because i fear i will be lonely :( all i will have are my stupid glow-in-the-dark stars :/..... and i also really need to finish my laundry ... currently you are reading a book out loud for me to hear ... i cant really understand you but i dont want to stop because i love hearing your voice :P <-- lol haha ANYWAYS cousin I <3 YOU
P.S. you are my fafret cousin :P

Tess Here

Hey so I'm the other cousin...I thought since this was both of our blog...then i needed to write a little something...Savannah and I are very careful to preserve any memory we have because we have so very few....so this is us writing all of our memories and being nostalgic about our past times...(btw nostalgic is apparently my favorite word)

The Begining

For two very close cousins, living 2000 miles away from each other is considered an obstacle; and when given the chance to be with eachother (besides our hours of conversationing over skype) we make the most of every second.
